Extractor Fan Installation
Whether it's upgrading an old, noisy unit or installing a new one in a humid bathroom or kitchen, a properly installed extractor fan is crucial for maintaining healthy air quality and preventing the build up of moisture and mould. Shower Installation
An electric shower is often the consumer's choice and is an important part of ensuring functionality to many bathrooms; in planning and installation, however, due consideration must also be made to the safety of the building's fabric that the wire passes through: care must be made to matching the cables size to the electrical load and selecting the necessary protection. Every step demands precision of work and adherence to Building Regulations. I take this responsibility seriously and always prioritise the well-being of my client and their properties.
Oven Hook Up
I will undertake with equal professionalism a straightforward Cooker replacement using an existing electrical outlet or a completely new installation of an Oven and/or Hob. I will pay due diligence to cable selection and circuit protection using the current Wiring and Building regulations.

Exterior Lighting
Well maintained exterior lighting is important not just for aesthetics but also for security. From ensuring pathways are well-lit to deterring potential intruders, the type and condition of your outdoor lighting significantly impact your property. I dedicate myself to providing comprehensive exterior lighting services, including security lighting, path lighting and ambiance lighting; encompassing everything from installation and upgrades to routine maintenance and repairs. My goal is to ensure your outdoor spaces are both beautifully illuminated and functionally secure, and that the equipment and wires connecting them are weatherproof and safe.
New Sockets, spurs and upgrading
to a double plate
One of the common tasks I handle regularly is installing new sockets and spurs, as well as upgrading existing single sockets to double plates. This often involves carefully assessing the existing wiring to ensure it can handle the increased load, selecting the appropriate fuse level and then safely connecting the new installation to the circuit. Upgrading to a double plate or a triple plate is a popular choice for homeowners needing more outlets or for tidying up extension plugs and getting rid of multi plug adaptors.
House Rewires
Many properties may have wires that are 60-80 years old. Often these wires are still in good working order but sometimes they have been ravaged by time: rodents & squirrels may damage wires, poorly installed wires don't last as long and years of heavy use may degrade the electrical insulation. When the electrical wire insulation breaks down or become damaged there is increased risk of fire and electric shock.
Often individual wires can be replaced but if too many are entangled in the properties structure a full rewire may be necessary. Sometimes for older properties the timing would be right to undertake a full rewire before moving in, especially if other works are planned; this would be an opportunity to future-proof the property and would bring peace of mind. If you are considering the question of a rewire I would be happy to discuss it with you and provide a quote for the work. All my work is insured under the Domestic Installers Scheme and will be conducted within the current Electrical and Building Regulations. I will provide an Installation Certificate on completion.
Consumer Unit Installation
Consumer Units (CUs) and the old Fuse Boxes are, in part, designed to protect a property by detecting electrical overload and short circuit faults and to quickly isolate the supply. Additionally, Residual Current Devices (RCDs) either within a CU or as a separate switch provides protection: to people from electric shock and to property from fire caused by wiring faults.
I will install a CU in accordance with the current wiring regulations and the latest guidance. Principally ones with: a metal case, featuring Type A RCDs and Surge Protection. I will ensure all the circuits are tested, correctly labelled and will provide an installation certificate.
New Circuit
Provided there are spare ways in your Consumer Unit adding a new circuit is often the best way of providing an up-graded feed to a new appliance, connecting sockets and lights in an extension or perhaps to supplying power to a shed or outbuilding.
